random 'isms...

DQ reminded me about the time we watched War of the Worlds for the first time.  Maymay was very concerned that they blew up Big Ben for the movie.  She kept asking how they could get permission to blow it up for a movie.

Another Maymayism comes to mind...
I remember sitting her down and explaining what a cliche is.  I chose walking a mile in someone's shoes.  I spent quite awhile teaching her the concept, and making sure I fully explained it.  I was pretty proud of myself with my obviously strong and beautifully put together lesson.  I asked her if she understood.  She looked up at me and said yes, but she would never do it.  I was dumbfounded.  So, I gritted my teeth and asked her why not.  She looked at me and said, "I could never walk a mile in someone's shoes because they might have different feet than me and their shoes would hurt my feet. I don't like my feet to hurt."

When Maymay gets VERY angry she says, "Berry doesn't like you, and I don't either".

Maymay:  Hey momma. I like our giant fort.

me:  Thanks hon. (as I'm finishing staple-gunning a blanket to the wall)

Maymay:  Can we eat snacks in our fort?

Me:  Yup. I'm gonna grab all kinds of goodies!

Maymay:  There's only one thing that could make this ever better-er.

me:  Oh yeah, what's that. (as the words left my mouth the dread set in...)

Maymay:  I'm gonna put Titanic on.

me:  &%#$@

Maymay has been creating custom mii, and I looked up to see what her latest creation looked like.

me: um, Maymay. That one kinda looks like Hitler.

Maymay looks at it for a moment and then destroys her creation.

me:  Hon! Why did you do that?

Maymay:  <sigh>  Momma, I HAD to. No one wants to play with Hitler.
