Huddle up for Autism 2015

Each year the Center for Autism Research (CAR), The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and the Philadelphia Eagles host an event called Huddle up for Autism.  It's a fun day for kids and their families that are on the spectrum.  A few years ago they started a fundraising campaign to help defray some of the costs, and to help with other programs.  Maymay begged to participate so she can be one of the VIP fundraisers and get a chance to meet the Eagles Cheerleaders who she ADORES.  (Not as much as she loves Titanic, but they are up there.)  She is thrilled to get the opportunity to meet her beloved cheerleaders, but to also help out the hospital that has done so much for her.

This year they are dangling the same carrot out there for my kiddo...raise money and hopefully become a VIP.  She seriously wants the meet and greet with the cheerleaders.  Seriously.

So, I'm asking...begging....you to please make a donation on her behalf to the hospital that performed three brain surgeries, multiple hospital stays, countless tests and procedures, and hundreds of hours of therapy and help with my kiddo.

The McCarter Theatre is pleased to announce a special autism-friendly performance of Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery on Wednesday, March 18 at 7pm.

What is a relaxed performance?
A relaxed performance is one that has been adapted to provide a relaxed and safe environment for individuals with autism, learning differences, or other sensory and communication needs so that they and their families may enjoy live theater together. The quality of the production still aligns with McCarter's high artistic standards, but small adjustments are made to certain technical elements (such as sound and light cues). In addition, professional staff will be on hand to assist parents and caregivers, a family restroom will be available, and there will be designated activity and relaxation areas in the lobby.

You'll also find the social story, FAQ, and a seating chart on the website. They have really gone above and beyond to make this an autism friendly performance!

All tickets are $15 and are only available by calling McCarter's Ticket Office or visiting in person at 91 University Place in Princeton.

Call 609-258-2787 or click HERE for more information.
