After spending two decades in England, Bill Bryson returns to the U.S., where he decides the best way to connect with his homeland is to hike the Appalachian Trail with one of his oldest friends.

I thought this movie was good but it seemed like I was watching Wild again.Except this was two old guys and a different trail and Wild was a true story.Mary Ellen was so annoying I would probably have done the same thing they did.  I thought it was cool that the one character had my mom's name though.I'm not sure how far I would be able to get on the Appalachian trail if I started all the way in Georgia and headed towards Maine.I would probably reach like halfway and be sitting there to decide whether to give up or to keep going.2,018 miles seems pretty far to walk for guy their  age.Although they were stupid not to take other people's help I liked that they wanted to accomplish something so big all by themselves and made it s far as they did. They had some guts for two old men. Though I did think his son would have offered to go with him or his daughter. That would have been the nice thing for them to do.Also at one point it seemed like they cheated even though it was to get away from Mary Ellen.
