It starts off when three people are trying to con a politician. Then it goes to the real beginning where Irving meets Sydney at a party and they fall in love. He trusts her and she becomes his con partner. They con people out of a bunch of money and get rich. A cop catches them and sets up a way to prove they are con-men. He then makes them con politicians saying that it is for building hotels and casinos. Irving goes home and plays with his son until his son mentions that his mom Rosalyn started a fire. She drinks and smokes and is very crazy. She was also very funny. Rosalyn finds out they are conning people and thinks the cop is actually an IRS agent. She meets a mob guy Pete at a party with Irving and he wants to date her. She tells him about the IRS guy. Pete takes Irving for a drive and Irving finds Rosalyn's nail polish in the car. He then hurts Irving to scare him or something and when Irving goes home he yells at Rosalyn for telling Pete about the cop/IRS guy. She promises to keep her mouth shut from now on. More politicians get conned and at the end when the cop brings them in to arrest them it turned out they conned him instead. It gets very confusing. Everyone is conning everyone. Sydney needed to cover up. She needed a real shirt on.
Jennifer Lawrence's character Rosalyn was the best part of this movie. She was funny and crazy and her son was adorable.
There should be warnings when they have strobe lights in movies. I have seizures and strobe lights make me have them. Just because it is on a screen doesn't make it less of a strobe light.
3 stars.
