When a single mother and her six-year-old daughter move to rural France and open a chocolate shop - with Sunday hours - across the street from the local church, they are met with some skepticism. But as soon as they coax the townspeople into enjoying their delicious products, they are warmly welcomed. ![]() This movie was really good. It makes you want to eat chocolate. A lot. I thought Johnny Depp was good. I liked that he played a pirate like character. It was really unfair for the town to treat him the way they did. Just because he wasn't a part of the church didn't mean he was a bad man. They mayor was a very bad mayor at first but I liked that he changed. Everyone can change and be good to people. It was sad when Luc saw his grandma die. I liked her. I liked that Vianne was nice to everyone no matter who they were, and fought to keep her store open even when people were so mean to her. She never listened to what people said and she did the right thing. I wish more people would be like Vianne. 3 1/2 stars
