A former British Army officer, who was tormented as a prisoner of war at a Japanese labor camp during World War II, discovers that the man responsible for much of his treatment is still alive and sets out to confront him. ~IMDb ![]() I liked this movie, but I thought it was really sad. After everything that Eric went through during WWII, he was able to forgive Nagase who tormented him. I felt so bad for Eric and all the pain he went through. I did not like that they broke his ribs and arms in the Japanese labor camp. I did not know they went through so much suffering and torture. It hurt my heart very bad. I also didn't like that so many died a terrible death. I did like that the veterans all met together and were friends. It made me sad that they all went through terrible things and that's why they needed each other for support so many years after the war was over. The end of the movie made me very nervous. It was very tense. I liked at the end how Eric's wife Patti came with him to forgive Nagase. 4 1/2 stars
