The Zookeeper's Wife tells the account of keepers of the Warsaw Zoo, Antonina and Jan Zabinski, who helped save hundreds of people and animals during the German invasion.
This movie was so good but so sad. It was also based on a true story which made it sadder. It's hard to watch the things that happened during World War 2. This woman managed to saved 300 people. Sadly two of them were found and killed. I loved how the animals loved them just as they loved the animals. Especially the one camel who followed her around the zoo. The baby lions were so adorable. I am most surprised about how many people she was able to save right under the Nazi's noses. Especially Lutz Heck who kept visiting them. I find it really horrible that their zoo was bombed, prized animals taken, the rest were shot on sight. They were then forced to raise pigs for those nasty people. I was really scared because I thought Lutz was going to kill Antonina's son. I did hope that it was the other way around. Everything was just so horrible. I would hate to live in that time. I feel really bad for the people who had to experience all of that and live with it. I love what she did for those people and how many she was able to save. I Really love that they rebuilt their Zoo. Even funnier when Lutz lost his Zoo. He kind of earned it though. He was a creep. The ending was happy but also sad since her husband had been shot in the neck or something but got to go home. I wonder if the people in her family still own the Zoo. It was a really good story but the story is so sad and happy all in one.
