After a near-fatal plane crash in WWII, Olympian Louis Zamperini spends a harrowing 47 days in a raft with two fellow crewmen before he's caught by the Japanese navy and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp.
This was a very good movie, but the story was terrible. How could anyone survive that much torture? It made me really angry when Wantanabe was calling Louis his friend when he has been torturing and beating him the whole time. I thought when Wantanabe was promoted Louis wouldn't have to deal with him anymore. It was mean to put him in that same camp where Wantanabe was switched to. Louis was a brave man to survive all those days at sea plus the rest of the war in a detention camp. I liked how the other prisoners became his friend and were cheering him on when Wantanabe was being so mean. This movie hurt my heart but I am glad I saw it.
