A frontiersman named Hugh Glass on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s is on a quest for survival after being brutally mauled by a bear. ![]() As much as I don't like that Leo got mauled by a bear I liked the movie. I thought Hugh Glass had crappy men. He gets mauled by a bear so they leave him for dead and kill his son. I felt bad for him. He had to walk 200 miles to the nearest settlement on a broken leg and some really deep cuts. I like that the one Pownee Indian was helping him but I felt bad because Hugh wakes up to find him dead. Throughout the movie I was hating Fitzgerald more and more but he kept giving reasons to hate him. Both Fitzgerald and Bridger left him and then lied to the rest of their crew that Glass was dead. I thought it was sweet that Glass and his son Hawk didn't want to leave each others side. Hawk stayed by him the whole time before he was killed and they ditched glass and Glass didn't want to leave his dead son until he started walking towards the settlement. What's crazy to me is that in real life after he was mauled by a bear he still wanted to be a trapper. At that point I would be way too afraid to go back into the woods. I did like that he freed Powaqa from the men who took her and that she thanked him at the end. 5 stars
