In the future, a wealthy family is held hostage for harboring the target of a murderous syndicate during the Purge, a 12-hour period in which any and all crime is legalized.

I kind of liked this movie. Even though it wasn't scary I was still scared. I was just hoping that this doesn't become our future. Crime should never be legal even if it is only one night. Also that security was a heavy duty security system how would they have broken it off with a truck. What would they even attach the chains to? It's not like they would of added handles to for the purgers to break in. Henry was so predictable. I knew as soon as he said that he was going to talk to Zoe's dad that he was going to try to kill James. Especially when he said that he was going to have to listen. I didn't trust that boy from the beginning. I did think that it was going to be Zoe who unlocked the house because of Henry but it wasn't. I was actually surprised to see that it was Charlie. Although I liked that he did it to help someone. I would have been scared to even risk that. I would have wanted to help but I don't think I would have. What's with the masks? It's not like the purgers have to hide their faces. Any crime is legal that one night so why are they hiding? Cops can't do anything about it so it makes no sense. Also they are really creepy  masks. They make them look like dolls. All weird and plastic looking. Honestly what freaked me out was that anyone would what to purge. Why would anyone want to kill somebody? Also is the purge even worth having when people kill people anyway? The part I hated the most was that the neighbors helped them only so they could kill them. He gave them safety for when the purge came and they try to kill him. Not cool. That is not how you say thank you.
