The Amazing Spider-Man 2

I cannot believe I'm going to say this, but here is goes. There were too many pyrotechnics in the movie. Yeah. I can't believe I said it either. I'm the girl that adores stuff blowing up. Good pyrotechnics should add something to the movie, not distract from it. This is an enjoyable movie, with a terrific performance by Andrew Garfield as Spidey. The geek in me had a few issues with minor points, but the overall story line was extremely gratifying. Although it's not quite amazing, it is a pretty great movie.

Neighbors

If there were a movie that could be called a complete opposite of a chick flick, it's this movie. Look, I realize I have the humor of a fourteen year old boy at times. I find fart jokes funny. Sad, but true. This pushed the boundaries even for me. There were moments that were genuinely hilarious, but mostly it was barely chuckle worthy. It's an overly hyped movie that just didn't deliver.

Draft Day

I love football. I'm originally from Texas and have grown up believing that football is almost sacred. I've been a fan since before I could talk. Yeah, I love football. One of my favorite movies is Rudy, but that's for another discussion. I genuinely liked this movie. I though it was a fun depiction of what I assume behind the scenes of an actual draft day might be like. It was hugely entertaining, and although it could've slipped into some pretty deep dramatic moments, thankfully it didn't. Whenever it started to get too serious, this wonderfully nerdy intern seemed to show up. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes football. Wait...isn't that everyone?
