Age of Adaline

Sweet, complex, far-fetched, and romantic. This movie made me happy. It's not my typical favorite movie. Nothing blows up, and there isn't a single stormtrooper to be found. Yet, I loved the movie enough to ignore the more than two hour run time and actually wish the story went longer. Blake Lively was classic and beautiful, and Michiel Huismen was absurdly beautiful and sweet. Harrison Ford was perfect. I'd happily see this again in the theater.

Clouds of Sils Maria

Juliette Binoche is a goddess. There really is no use trying to find any other words to describe her. I could truly spend hours describing her uber talented self, and still not feel I did her justice. What I feel I should do is admit how surprised I was at Kristen Stewart's performance. I expected to hate her. Instead, I genuinely wanted to know her. She was intelligent, and held her own on screen. Add in the stunning shots of the Alps and this is most definitely a movie to see.

tHE lONGEST rIDE

I owe Nicholas Sparks an apology. I may have made a few not so kind remarks about his movies in the past. This movie proved me wrong. It was sweet and romantic while giving some really decent rodeo and bull riding moments. I liked this movie far more than I assumed I would. It's a good date movie, and I'm pretty sure attendance at local rodeos will increase too.

Furious 7

I went to the screening knowing the movie was going to be cheesier than a block of Velveeta. I wasn't expecting to truly enjoy the experience as much as I did. It's absolutely the best movie of the franchise. The best part of the movie is most certainly the ending. I refuse to give anything away, but be prepared for a level of feels that you don't see coming.

Get Hard

Well...it has moments when it's actually funny, and moments where it's uncomfortably racist. I'm pretty sure I'm not an overly sensitive person, and can take a joke, but this stretches the limits. Overall, it's just a blah movie that would be good for a Redbox and pizza night.

Home

I'm not a huge fan of animated movies, so didn't expect much. I wasn't impressed, but it didn't make me want to scoop out my eyeballs with a spoon either. It's a decent movie for kids with cute aliens. It did make me crave a slurpee.
