We won our tickets from Wired 96.5 radio station. Besides being extremely excited that we won radio station passes, Maymay was THRILLED that she got to meet the pretty lady with the microphone. I wish I could remember her actual name because my kiddo kept referring to her as the pretty lady with the microphone. I would've corrected her, but she was so sincere I just couldn't.
Maymay was on cloud 9, 10 and 11 when she was told that she would be on the list for as many screenings as possible, including IRONMAN 3. Saying she was excited is a complete understatement. Maymay looked at me and said, "Momma, someone likes me." Yeah, I just cried but tried to pull it off. (Thank you dark movie theater.) I just hugged her tight until she pulled away to watch the pretty lady with the microphone.

I looked up the basic information about the movie before the screening, so I knew it was a true story. I didn't read too much about it. I like to completely experience the movie without knowing what's coming.
Anyway, from the moment it began I was sucked into the story. It was a fantastic performance by Mark Wahlberg, and from the second he was on screen I forgot he was super adorable Marky Mark, and believed he was muscle head Daniel Lugo. It was one hell of a character and he really put his all into it.
Anthony Mackie played a very likable yet stereotypical steroid using gym rat named Adrian. Adrian's absolute best moments were with his soon to be wife Robin, fantastically played by Rebel Wilson. I adored every moment she was on screen. She is funny, sassy, and makes me wish we could hang out. Yeah, I kinda adore her.
Okay. Now I get to talk about the man. sigh... Dwayne Johnson. Saying I have a complete middle school girl type crush on him is such an understatement. While I will watch anything that this man is in, I was thrilled that his role as Paul Doyle was done with his typical badass style. He had the best lines of the movie and made me laugh hysterically at more than one point. His facial expressions KILLED me while he was exploring the warehouse they would be using for their hostage.
Overall I loved the movie, but the movie had moments I was extremely uncomfortable. It didn't help that there were little kids in the theater watching a movie with gore, violence, sex toys in sizes I didn't know existed, and language that would make any good truck driver blush. You should go see it, but please....leave the young kids at home.
